Minimum Qualifications The qualifications include at least four (4) years’ investigative experience. Candidates should also have exhibited demonstrated leadership, management, and supervisory potential. Knowledge of the subject matter is preferred.

OSI investigative staff must possess, at a minimum, knowledge of the applicable laws, the highest levels of behavior including personal integrity and ethics; fairness; character; judgment; attitude; and respect for and ability to work with others inside and outside OSI. OSI investigative staff must also have state-of-the-art technical skills for thorough and objective investigations and to fulfill OSI’s mission. Appropriate licensure and certifications (including being or becoming a peace officer qualified to carry a firearm) are also required. The ability to travel as needed is also necessary. All applicants must pass an OSI background check.
Duties Description OSI is seeking qualified candidates to be considered for an opening as a Senior Investigator in IAD. The OSI office location would in either Long Island City, Wallkill, or Fishkill; regular travel will be required. An OSI Senior Investigator is the sixth-level leadership and supervisory level role (under OSI’s chief, assistant chief, director, deputy chief investigator, and assistant deputy chief investigator) responsible for overseeing this division’s investigative activities within the geographic region. A Senior Investigator will report directly to an Assistant Deputy Chief Investigator and is required to manage a caseload; supervise other investigative staff; lead small groups on assignments and projects; and assist supervisors in the development of strategies, operations, and tactics. This position will require a high degree of organizational and writing skills, as well as must be available to respond immediately to incidents and possibly remain in the area for a period of time.
