This DCI position is responsible for the daily operations of SCD and management of SCD staff. Additionally, the DCI for SCD must also collaborate with the Department’s Sexual Abuse Prevention and Education Office (SAPEO) on training programs, retaliation monitoring, audits of the Department’s compliance with the federal Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA), and other initiatives related to the prevention of sexual misconduct within DOCCS’ system. It is the responsibility of the DCI to ensure that the investigations conducted by the SCD are compliant with PREA, NYS Executive and Criminal Procedure Laws, and other relevant federal and state statutes.
