Minimum Qualifications Two years experience in maintenance or mechanical work under the supervision of a skilled trades worker, or the completion of an appropriate two-year technical school course.
Preferred qualifications: Knowledge of navigational aides and the ability to operate GPS equipment and read maps of Great Sacandaga Lake.

Duties Description Will work under the direct supervision of a Trades Generalist assisting in general maintenance, repair and infrastructure improvement of State facilities including, but not limited to, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and heavy equipment operation. Other duties include assisting in hazardous tree removal, trail maintenance, general sanitary cleaning of facilities and navigational aide maintenance.

Additional Comments Must have a valid driver's license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain, work in remote areas and in adverse weather conditions. Travel, overnight travel and overtime may be required. Weekends and holidays may be required. Must be available for emergency response. Must be available to respond to after-hours emergencies. Must be able to lift and move objects up to 70 pounds.

This is a seasonal, hourly appointment with an anticipated end date of 03/31/2023. Program needs and funding will determine actual termination date. Actual work schedule, duties and travel requirements may vary and will be discussed at the interview.
