Minimum Qualifications To be considered for permanent appointment, candidates must be reachable on the current Civil Service eligible list or be eligible for reassignment or transfer in accordance with Civil Service Law.

Duties Description • Conducts initial fact-finding to develop background information on projects utilizing data received from program staff and others.
• Confers with information technology representatives to ascertain possible benefits of utilizing information technology systems to gather necessary data for study, or to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of a given program.
• Provides technical assistance to program managers in implementing new or modified systems.
• Reviews written reports, memoranda and other relevant project related documents.
• Analyzes data pertaining to the problem to be solved in order to develop appropriate findings.
• Determines requirements and scope of assignments and prepares written descriptions of projects for review by the supervisor.
• Periodically meets with the specialists to review and resolve problems.
• Conducts other functions and activities as assigned, including the supervision of subordinate staff as necessary.

Responsibilities may include serving a role within the Incident Command System to support the department’s response to regional and statewide emergency situations.
