Minimum Qualifications Possible Shift change for winter months (November 15th - March 30th) 10pm - 6:30am

One year of experience in the operation of equipment noted as appropriate for this class and the possession of a valid New York State driver's license Class B or higher required. This position may be filled from a mandatory reemployment list if one is in effect at the time of appointment. Candidates may be expected to be qualified to use negative pressure respirators.

Duties Description Ability to operate backhoes, front-end loaders, skid steers, wing plows, street sweeper / storm sewer machine and any other vehicles and equipment used in the regular maintenance and operations of the campus; Ability to perform the physical tasks of the position and to understand and follow simple oral or written instructions; ability to perform medium to heavy physical labor; ability to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime and be subject to shift changes to accommodate snow removal needs; possess a valid NYS Commercial Driver’s License Class B or higher required.

Appointment will be contingent upon successful completion of pre-employment testing for controlled substance use as mandated by the Federal Highway Administration Omnibus Transportation Act of 1991 (OTETA). Employment cannot commence until notification for successful completion of this pre-employment testing is received. Please note that in addition to the initial testing required by OTETA, the Act further requires that the University conduct pre-assignment (promotion), reasonable suspicion, post-accident, random, follow-up and return to duty drug and alcohol testing throughout the period of employment.
