Minimum Qualifications Four years of full-time experience in a trade under a skilled journey-level position which would provide training equivalent to that given in an apprenticeship program. Apprentice training in a trade or training gained by the completion of technical courses in a trade at a school or institute may be substituted for the above experience on a year-for-year basis.

Duties Description The position requires basic knowledge and understanding of primary electrical distribution and journey level knowledge of secondary voltages and wiring. Work projects can be residential, commercial, industrial, mechanical and industrial controls. Will be required to maintain, diagnose and repair generators, solar and battery inverter systems. Experience with lift stations and water systems is beneficial. Candidates must have a strong knowledge in the building trades, including but not limited to, carpentry, plumbing, masonry and excavation. The candidate must have the capability to read blueprints. The position requires experience with building codes and regulations. The candidate must have the ability to estimate project cost. Position requires working independently as well as part of a work crew. Candidate will be required to lead work crews on all aspects of any project.

Additional Comments Must have a valid driver’s license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain and work in remote areas. Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions. Travel, overnight and overtime may be required. Weekends and holidays may be required. Must be available for emergency response. Must be available to respond to after-hours emergencies.

This is a seasonal, hourly appointment with a duration through 03/31/2023. Program needs and funding will determine actual termination date, which may be prior to date listed. Actual work schedule, duties and travel requirements may vary and will be discussed at interview.
