Minimum Qualifications Two years of experience in mechanical work under the supervision of a skilled trades worker or completion of an appropriate two-year technical school course.
Duties Description Assist in the maintenance and repair of motorized equipment. Including oil changes, tune-ups and minor repairs to vehicles, boats, trailers, heavy and small equipment. Maintain parts and supplies inventories. Clean equipment and shop areas. Perform a variety of tasks in the field of motor equipment maintenance. Perform preventive maintenance inspections of vehicles and equipment following preventive maintenance schedules to ensure safe and trouble free performance. Perform additional automotive shop tasks as assigned.
Additional Comments Must have a valid driver's license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain, work in remote areas and in adverse weather conditions. Travel, Overnight and Overtime may be required. Weekends and holidays may be required. Must be available for emergency response. Must be available to respond to after-hours emergencies. Must obtain a Class B CDL within 12 months of appointment with appropriate endorsements and no air brake restriction. Will be subject to the Federal Omnibus Transportation Employee Testing Act (OTETA) of 1991, which requires employee testing for drug and alcohol abuse. Must be able to lift and move objects up to 80 pounds.
This is a seasonal, hourly appointment with an anticipated end date of 3/31/2023. Program needs and funding will determine actual termination date. Actual work schedule and duties may vary and will be discussed at the interview.
