POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The position is to provide Physical Therapist Assistant services to individuals in Stated Operated Individual Residential Alternatives and those attending State Operated Day Habilitation Programs in Herkimer and Eastern Oneida County based upon plans written by a licensed PT and under the PT’s supervision.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Physical Therapist Assistant 2, you would assist the supervising Physical Therapist(s) in providing direct Physical Therapy services & Physical Therapy-related services to individuals with Developmental Disabilities in assigned coverage area. Duties include but are not limited to:
• Assists supervising Physical Therapist(s) in performing Physical Therapy-related assessments
• Provides direct Physical Therapy services to individuals identified by supervising Physical Therapist(s) as requiring skilled P.T.
• Provides training to Day Hab staff in implementation of PT-related plans, routines, etc.
• Facilitates acquisition and repair of DME for individuals and State Operated sites

SELECTION CRITERIA:
• Ability to function as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team relating to professional, para-professional, and direct care staff.
• Ability to communicate in a thorough, concise, accurate and professional manner both verbally and in writing.
• Training/public speaking experience.
• Computer literate in Outlook, Word & Excel, with ability to consistently document electronically
• Ability to do on-line & telephone searches for DME
• Possess an acceptable time and attendance record as specified in the time and attendance policy.
• Possess an acceptable work record (E-File)
• Document in an Agency based EHR system per all regulatory requirements, which will be reviewed by supervising PT(s)
• Maintains a Professional license in the practice of PT that is in good standing with all regulatory bodies.
