Minimum Qualifications Transfer:
Must have one year of permanent service as a Licensed Psychologist; OR
Must have one year of permanent service in a title eligible for transfer under § 70.1 of the Civil Service Law; OR
Must have one year of permanent service in a title within two (2) salary grades of G-25 and have a passing score and current status on the Licensed Psychologist eligible list to be eligible for transfer under § 70.4 of the Civil Service Law

Temporary Appointment:
Licensed Psychologist is a continuous recruitment examination. Candidates who are not currently on the eligible list may apply for this position and if appointed, will receive a temporary appointment. To qualify, candidates must be licensed and currently registered to practice psychology in New York State. Duties Description JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) provides high-quality, person-centered services, supports and advocacy to approximately 136,000 individuals with developmental disabilities in New York State. The Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) Division of Service Delivery Regional Offices seeks a Licensed Psychologist who will act as the supervisory staff for the Region 4 Eligibility Unit. Eligibility Unit is responsible determines whether a person has a developmental disability and is eligible for OPWDD-funded services. The Licensed Psychologist will provide supervision to the clinician at the Region 4 Eligibility Unit.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The candidate selected for this position will act as Licensed Psychologist for the Eligibility Unit. The incumbent’s duties will include but are not limited to the following:
• Review and make determination of Eligibility requests
• Reviewing behavioral support plans for those who are transitioning to and/or currently in our system
• Generate TABS eligibility form letters; complete LCED in Choices for net new cases that are determined eligible
• Clinical supervision to psychologists and DDRO staff responsible for 1st and 2nd step eligibility criteria.
• Provide court testimony regarding eligibility for OPWDD services and diagnosis and other clinical issues.
• Liaison with CCOs, families, NYC hospitals, and other stakeholders regarding eligibility related issues.
• Review and assist with special cases involving any of the individuals served by voluntary providers on an as needed basis
• Provide training to DDRO and voluntary clinical staff as needed
• Provide training to public, school, and voluntary providers regarding OPWDD eligibility process as needed
• Provide assessments/evaluations/consultations regarding Forensic referrals as needed
• Participate in monthly meetings chaired by the Chief Psychologist in Albany, re: best practices and other topics
• Submit eligibility cases to the Statewide 3rd step eligibility committee and participate as a member of the committee via teleconference or video conference
• Participation in High Needs and Intensive Respite reviews
• Familiarization with 633.16 regulations as well as those under the purview of Mental Hygiene Law
• Travel involved to different boroughs to work with staff in person
• Travel involved across state for training and meetings
• Participate in special projects as needed

• Please note, the posted salary includes an approved Increased Hiring Rate to Job Rate ($111,111), an approved Geographic Differential of $20,000, and a Downstate Adjustment of $3,026.
