Minimum Qualifications Permanent Transfer: Current NYS employee with one year or
more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive
service as a Maintenance Supervisor 2 Grade 17, OR a NYS
employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent- permanent, competitive service as a Plant Superintendent C (G21) or Plant Utilities Engineer 2 (G16), and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
Public Candidates: Active list candidate on the New York State Department of Civil Service's Maintenance Supervisor 2 eligible list# 26-606 and be reachable on the list.
Preferred Qualifications:
Candidate should possess strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills; and must be able to work independently and as part of a team as well as handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Duties Description The Maintenance Supervisor 2 will be assigned to Griffin Laboratory and will be responsible for managing and supporting maintenance activities, including fleet vehicles, building trades and shops for state and contract trades staff, state and contract custodial staff, operations purchasing, facilities regulatory inspection requirements, laboratory renovations, equipment management, and multi-building maintenance and repair management.
