Minimum Qualifications You must take and pass a Civil Service examination.

Current NYS certification as a credentialed Alcohol and
Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) or 3 years of qualifying experience. An Associates degree in Psychology, Counseling, Sociology, Social Science, Social Work, Alcoholism, Substance Abuse, Criminal Justice, Correctional Studies, Addictions Studies, Human Services, Community Health or a related field may be substituted for 2 years of this experience.

Duties Description Provide ongoing treatment services to Incarcerated Individuals with substance abuse disorders. Develop treatment findings and conclusions based on an admission and comprehensive evaluation; establish a substance use disorder diagnostic impression; develop and implement a person-centered treatment plan for each assigned Incarcerated Individual; continually evalute and document the level and quality of participation and progression towards reasonably applied goals for each Incarcerated Individual; and provide services to ensure successful treatment. Work with other facility staff and provide such services in a vareity of treatment modalities in order to assist the Incarcerated Individual in addiction rehabiliation.
