Minimum Qualifications 1) Must have an active and reachable score on the Civil Service list for Nursing Station Clerk
OR
2) Eligible for transfer under section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. Examples of such titles include Keyboard Specialist 1, Clerk 1, or Calculations Clerk 1
OR
3) Have one (1) year of full-time clerical, secretarial, or patient care experience in a health care setting and willing to accept a provisional appointment.
**PROVISIONAL APPOINTMENTS will only be considered if Civil
Service list is exhausted. Candidates appointed provisionally must take the next Civil Service examination for this title and their score must be reachable on the resulting eligible list before they can be permanently appointed. Candidates who do not pass the examination or do not achieve a reachable score may not be retained in this title. At this time, a date for the Nurse Station Clerk exam has not been announced.
Duties Description The Nurse Station Clerk will be assigned to a nursing unit where there is daily contact with the residents. In this capacity, the Clerk will screen communications, provide information to nursing and clinical staff, process physician orders, complete orders and requisitions, prepare and maintain medical records and logs, process diagnostics reports and correspondence, and other miscellaneous clerical duties as required.
Additional Comments Base salary includes an additional annual Downstate Location pay.
