Eligible List Appointment: Candidates must be reachable on the Civil Service eligible list for Professional Engineer 1 (Electrical). Section 70.1 Transfer: Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service as a Professional Engineer 1 with one of the following parenthetical title designations: Mechanical, Mechanical/HVAC, Electrical, Civil, Civil/Construction, Civil/Geotechnical, Civil/Structural, Civil/Transportation, Environmental, Industrial or Fire Protection AND possess a New York State Professional Engineer’s license and current registration.
Duties Description NYS Parks is looking for a licensed electrical engineer who can utilize their technical skill in managing renewable energy construction projects throughout the state park system. NYS Parks has set a goal to have fifty percent (50%) of the agency’s electricity produced from our own clean energy sources by 2030. Most of that energy will be derived from solar arrays set in our parks and historic sites. The Professional Engineer 1 (Electrical) will utilize their expertise in planning and implementing solar installations at Parks facilities in coordination with parks engineers, environmental staff, historic preservation, regional and parks staff, consultants, vendors, and utility providers.
