Minimum Qualifications Two years of full-time experience in maintenance or mechanical work under the supervision of a skilled tradesperson;
Or completion of a two-year technical school coarse at a school, institute, or branch of the Armed Services, such as, the
NYS CSEA-P Applied Skilled Trades Certificate Program; OR an equivalent combination of experience and training gained by
completion of appropriate technical courses at a school, institute, or branch of the Armed Services. A valid motor vehicle license Class D is required for this position.
*Successful completion of the NYS CSEA-P Applied Skilled Trades Certificate Program includes a total of 288 hours of trade-
specific classroom instruction, 45 hours of technical math courses, 45 hours of technical communication courses, 15 hours of blueprint/schematic reading courses. It does not include 4,000 hours of on-the-job training, as required for the NYS CSEA-P Applied Skilled Trades Traineeship.
Duties Description The incumbent will assist with the following tasks/responsibilities which allow for the proper maintenance of our infrastructure, including, but not limited to, installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of both heating and air conditioning HVAC systems. Monitor and inspect both systems, assess drain problems and perform needed repairs, install, and maintain humidifiers, diagnose service issues, calibrate systems to manufacturer's specifications. Maintain proper stock, parts, tools, and safety equipment. This position will also be responsible for plumbing, carpentry, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems including building lighting and power distribution in all Facilities in the Albany Division. This position is important to keep Facilities maintenance and operation running smoothly by assisting with all job tasks.
Additional Comments This position belongs to the Teamsters Bargaining Unit. The salary starts at the hiring rate listed and is non negotiable.
