REASSIGNMENT QUALIFICATIONS (DOL EMPLOYEES ONLY):
Current New York State Department of Labor employee with at least one year of permanent, contingent-permanent, or 55 b/c service as a Labor Services Representative or Trainee 1/2; if you have less than one year, you must be reachable on the current eligible list for this location, if one exists.
70.1 TRANSFER QUALIFICATIONS:
One year of permanent, contingent-permanent, or 55 b/c service in a Grade 14 or higher determined to be similar by Civil Service.

70.4 TRANSFER QUALIFICATIONS:
One year of permanent, contingent-permanent or 55 b/c service in a position allocated to a Grade 11 or higher, a passing score on the Labor Services Representative exam and a bachelor’s degree*. Note: Candidates must not have failed the most recent examination for this title. Appointments are made at the Trainee 1 level.
*Your degree must have been awarded by a college or university accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education/U.S. Secretary of Education. *If your degree was awarded by an educational institution outside the United States and its territories, you will be required to provide independent verification of equivalency prior an offer of employment. Hourly LSR’s are not eligible for transfer or reassignment.
55b/c:

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to initiate and maintain relationships across a diverse set of stakeholders.
Duties Description STANDARD DUTIES:
As a Labor Services Representative at the Unemployment Insurance Appeal Board, you would provide administrative support for Unemployment Insurance (UI) hearing office. Duties include but are not limited to:
• Communicating with hearing parties including processing of hearing notices and decisions
• Answering phones
• Ensuring hearing calendars are prepared by staff according to timeliness guidelines
• Reviewing incoming case files, and ensuring all necessary determinations and documentations are present
• Review case files for complexity to determine time needed on the calendar
• Ensure staff time records are submitted and approved in a timely manner
• Provide administrative assistance to judicial staff as needed
