Minimum Qualifications "Permanent Transfer Candidates: Current NYS employee with one year of permanent or contingent permanent competitive service as a Health Care Surveyor 2, G20, and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law OR Current NYS employee with one year of permanent or contingent permanent competitive service in a title G18 or higher and meeting the open competitive minimum qualifications listed below.

Open Competitive Minimum Qualifications: Currently licensed and registered as a professional nurse in NYS; AND a minimum of two years of post-licensure health care, public health, community health, or other nursing experience in an appropriate facility setting.

Preferred Qualifications: Current clinical care knowledge. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to work well independently and as part of a team. Home Care Health Care Experience a plus.

Duties Description The HCS 2 Nurse may conduct surveys and complaint investigations of home health and hospice providers independently or as a team member; review policies and procedures; review patient records, identify quality of care issues, analyze and evaluate compliance with state and federal regulations. Must be able to write comprehensive reports of findings and discuss findings with agency administration.

Additional Comments Frequent travel, including overnights and travel to areas that may not be served by public transportation is required.

*Posted salary range includes the statutory hiring rate at Step 4 and job rate for PS&T Grade 20 ($77,029 - $86,140) and an additional Geographic Pay Differential of $20,000
