Minimum Qualifications There are no Civil Service minimum qualifications. Qualifications for each seasonal position are based on operating needs and vary based on the assigned work location and job title.

Duties Description It's never too early to start planning for summer employment!

Seasonal employees are typically employed between Memorial Day and Labor Day (may vary based on location). Park and Recreation Aides can work in many different areas within a park or historic site, including:
-Park Offices
-Park and Trail Maintenance
-Historic Site Interpretation
-Environmental Education
-Lifeguarding
-Golf Courses and Pro Shops
-Patron Assistance
...and more!

Many park regions also employ a limited number of seasonal trades people and recreation specialists.

Additional Comments Pay:
-Current hourly salaries for Park and Recreation Aides range from $14.20/hr. to $22.09/hr. depending on location, type of work available and the experience of the applicant.

-Pay rates are scheduled to increase in April to $14.63-$22.76
