Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
Four years of full-time experience in the machinist, electrical or electronics trades under a skilled tradesperson which would provide training equivalent to that given in a training, apprenticeship, or equivalent program; or an equivalent combination of experience and training gained by completion of technical courses in the machinist, electrical or electronics trades at a school, institute, or branch of the Armed Services.

Preferred Qualifications:
Hands-on experience in the installation, troubleshooting, repair and preventive maintenance of all types of dental equipment. Familiarity with University purchasing and physical plant work order processes is highly desirable.

Duties Description Position Summary:
The School of Dental Medicine at the University at Buffalo seeks to hire a Service & Repair Mechanic (Laboratory). In this position, you will perform the following duties:
• Assist with overall equipment maintenance of the School of Dental Medicine, including complete repair, parts inventory and preventive maintenance program for all dental equipment, as detailed by the Facilities Planning & Management Associate.
• Assist with testing and evaluation of new types of manufacturer’s dental equipment.
• Perform minor repairs in the areas of plumbing, mechanics, electrical and carpentry.
• Assist Facilities Planning & Management Associate with prioritizing and coordinating all work orders, including those involving University and/ or external contractors.
• Maintain training and skills set with current and evolving dental technologies, requiring travel to manufacturer training facilities.
• Provide additional assistance to the Facilities Planning and Management Officer/Associate on general facilities tasks apart from clinical equipment.
