Minimum Qualifications Experience:

Five (5) years of responsible management, administrative or supervisory experience in the health services field including two (2) years as manager of one or more of the following areas functioning in support of clinical or treatment services: budget, fiscal, human resource management, affirmative action, information systems management, or support services in a general hospital, community mental health center, health care facility or a facility or agency providing services to people diagnosed with mental illness or developmental disabilities.

AND

Education:

A Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university or one recognized by the NYS Education Department as following acceptable educational standards in hospital, health care, public or business administration or a related field.

OR

Experience:

Seven (7) years of the experience described above including three (3) years as a manager as described above.

AND

Education:

A Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university or one recognized by the NYS Education Department as following acceptable educational standards.

Duties Description The DDPC 2 – Administration serves as an essential member of the facility’s Executive Management Team. Under the general direction of the Executive Director, Psychiatric Center, the DDPC 2 - Administration is responsible for the day-to-day development and direction of administrative management services (human resources, fiscal services, and support services) of the facility. The DDPC 2 – Administration oversees the hospital administrative and support departments of Human Resources, Business Office, Work Control (Maintenance, Grounds, Transportation, Engineering), Environmental/ Housekeeping, Safety & Security, Nutrition/ Food Services, and Information Technology. The DDPC 2 - Administration participates in administrative decision making; recommends and implements relevant facility policies and procedures; interprets policy guidelines and monitors the effectiveness of these policies through continuous performance improvement; develops the facility budget/spending plan and manages costs, including leading overtime reduction initiatives; chairs the Environment of Care Committee; and ensures Administrative Services is in compliance with The Joint Commission, Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and other regulatory agency standards.

Additional Comments Manhattan Psychiatric Center (MPC), a Joint Commission (TJC) accredited mental health facility located on beautiful Randall’s Island in New York City, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Deputy Director, Psychiatric Center 2 - Administration (DDPC 2 - Administration). Since its inception, MPC has stayed at the forefront of care, offering comprehensive, evidence-based inpatient and outpatient treatment services to adults with mental illness. MPC provides treatment to individuals from all walks of life with varied backgrounds. MPC develops personalized, comprehensive, and recovery-oriented care with the goal of returning patients to the community. MPC has 175 inpatient beds, 100 residential beds, a 100 bed Family Care program, and over 500 clients receiving services at an outpatient clinic located in Harlem. MPC is also affiliated with the New York University (NYU) School of Medicine and, as such, conducts high impact research and is a major training facility for students and residents. Salary: $143,454 - $180,438 (Plus $3,026 Location Pay)
