Minimum Qualifications Applicants must possess excellent research, analytical, writing, communication and organizational skills. Trial experience is preferred. Applicants also should be dedicated and motivated attorneys who have the ability to work independently and interact with a diverse group of colleagues, members of the public and other government regulators. Applicants must have a minimum of (5) years of civil litigation experience.

Applicants must reside in (or intend to soon become a resident of) New York State and must be admitted to practice law in New York State. Additionally, the Public Officers Law requires that OAG attorneys be citizens of the United States. A two (2) year commitment upon being hired is a condition of employment.

Duties Description The Office of the New York State Attorney General’s Nassau Regional Office (NRO) in Mineola is seeking an experienced attorney capable of handling significant and complex investigations and litigation. The NRO represents the State, its agencies and officers in state and federal courts in proceedings relating to civil rights, public employment, social services, education, elections, law enforcement, public health, state finance, insurance, taxation and other litigated matters arising out of state operations and legislation. The NRO also handles affirmative investigations and litigation into fraudulent and deceptive business practices. The attorney will handle all phases of litigation, including trials.
