Salary RangeFrom $39022 to $47968 Annually
Minimum Qualifications Minimum qualifications: must have:
Either 1. 60 college semester credit hours which includes at least 18 semester credit hours in biology, chemistry, physics, health science, or science technology;
Or 2. two years of professional experience in either a laboratory or a clinical setting performing technical laboratory test and procedures.
Or 3. 30 college semester credit hours which includes at least 18 semester credit hours in biology, chemistry, physics, health science or science technology AND one year of experience described in #2 above.
Or 4. an associate’s degree or higher in biology, chemistry, physics, health science, or science technology.
Duties Description Perform a variety of technical laboratory procedures in diagnostic, food, research, and other laboratories. Duties may include, but not limited to, performing such functions as: water and/or environmental chemistries; analysis of hazardous materials; virological determinations; radiation counts; microscopic; serologic, and/or immunologix examinations; standard bacteriological examinations; testing foods by common methods for contamination or adulteration; preparing media cultures, reagents, stains, and solutions; keeping manual or computerized records; the collection of samples from different matrixes, assisting in research and carrying out other duties as required, including in autopsy/necropsy procedures under the direction of a pathologist. May be responsible for maintaining daily order and cleanliness of the laboratory, equipment, and maintaining records.
