Minimum Qualifications There is currently no eligible list for this position. Therefore, if no more than three qualified individuals are interested, it will be possible to make a permanent appointment via non-competitive promotion

Minimum qualifications for provisional appointment: Must be a qualified employee of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and have had one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as a Supervising Environmental Conservation Police Officer or Environmental Conservation Investigator 2.

Duties Description This position will be responsible for receiving and investigating facts relating to Division personnel complaints as outlined in DLE procedures. This position will also plan and supervise internal inspections to ensure Division compliance with Department policy and procedures. This position will ensure quality control for Division calls for service and provide training. The incumbent of this position must have taken accredited OPS Training or will be expected to complete an OPS training course within a year of transfer / appointment to this position.

Additional Comments Must have a valid driver’s license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. Use of personal protection equipment, including a respirator, will be required. Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain Must be able to work in remote areas. Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions. Travel may be required. Overnight travel may be required. Weekends and holidays may be required. Must be available for emergency response. Must be available to respond to after-hours emergencies. Must complete an annual Health and Safety Program including medical monitoring, fit testing, and 40 (or 8) hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification.
