Minimum Qualifications To be considered for permanent appointment, candidates must be reachable on the current Civil Service eligible list or be eligible for reassignment or transfer in accordance with Civil Service Law. Possession of a valid NYS Landscape Architecture license with current NYS registration is required for this position.
At the interview, candidates must be prepared to demonstrate how their backgrounds meet the duties for this position.
Duties Description Duties Description:
• Evaluates environmental impacts on projects, provides technical assistance and advice for Bureau and Regional staff, and prepares documents to support environmental process determinations.
• Prepares or reviews projects involving: stormwater management (including the preparation of SWPPPs),wetland delineation and mitigation, grading, surface drainage, environmental permits, and landscaping .
• Coordinates landscape and site work with architectural and engineering work in the scoping, design, and construction stages.
• Trains and assists subordinates in GPS data collection, MicroStation, Open Roads, AutoCADD, Civil 3D and other skills necessary for professional and project development.
• Assigns project work to subordinates, guides staff during the development of work products and provides Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) for work products.
• Handles specially assigned duties such as correspondence, development of design guidance and reports, and investigations.
