One year of permanent, contingent permanent, or 55 B/C service allocated to a Grade 13 or higher eligible.

55 B/C QUALIFICATIONS Individuals certified eligible for the 55 B/C program under the Governor's Program to Hire Persons/Veterans with Disabilities pursuant to Section 55 B/C of the Civil Service Law will also be considered. Please provide a copy of your letter of eligibility with your response.
You must meet the open competitive qualifications from the most recent examination announcement. Which are as follows:
Either 1. A bachelor's or higher degree in accounting, auditing, or taxation; OR
2. A bachelor's or higher degree with 24 semester credit hours in accounting, auditing, or taxation courses.
Note that courses such as business law, economics, statistics, and most finance courses, although taken as part of an accounting curriculum, cannot be counted toward the 24 semester credit hours.
Duties Description • Under the direction of the Associate Accountant, monitor expenditures and reporting for contractors and delegate agencies throughout the Capital District and New York City Metropolitan region of the state.
• Conduct monitoring responsibilities to ensure that grant awards and federal guidelines are adhered to.
• Conduct comprehensive Triannual reviews (TRACS), comprehensive annual reviews (ACROS) and annual risk assessment (FMFA) for subgrantees.
• Review federal block grant contracts, contract amendments, and payments to grantees.
• Review grantee reports, financial statements and other documents associated with federally funded grants.
• Prepare monitoring and activity reports for supervisory review.
• Communicate critical issues related to contract monitoring to the Associate Accountant and program staff.
• Participate in internal meetings regarding federally funded contractors.
• Participate in regional meetings with grantees and DOS partners.
• Provide technical assistance to DOS programs in contract monitoring and expenditure review.
• Participate in external audits as necessary.
• Assist with annual internal control testing and reporting.
