Duties Description • Collaborate with business teams from the Division of Retirement Services to gather and refine business requirements.
• Analyze functional requirements and develop technical requirements/specifications.
• Investigate ways to apply delivered PeopleSoft technology as a solution to business problems, providing associated benefits and risks of the approach.
• Analyze the best approach for implementing customizations.
• Code new programs and modules and make code changes to existing programs and modules.
• Assist team members with development tasks as needed.
• Assist team members in creation of design documents and other related system documentation.
• Develop, review, and approve technical designs.
• Acquire and demonstrate strong technical knowledge in supported functional areas.
• Communicate and negotiate with functional and business customers regarding work priorities.
• Provide feedback of the status of work being performed.
• Ensure coding standards follow best practices.
• Direct and supervise staff by communicating objectives and expectations, allocating resources, assigning tasks/projects, reviewing progress/deliverables, providing constructive feedback, etc.
• Work with manager and other team leads to develop team workplans.
• Perform the full range of supervisory responsibilities including, but not limited to, development and completion of comprehensive performance evaluations and review of timesheets and telecommuting journals.
• Encourage professional development for team members and develop training plans that will enhance the team’s ability to deliver solutions.
• Train new staff, when necessary, in helping them acquire new job duties.
• Keep current on Oracle PeopleSoft technology and mentor team members.
• Review and approve required administrative records (timecards, TDS entries, telecommuting journals, etc.) and provide guidance to team members regarding policies, procedures, time managing and other reporting.
• Perform program testing/tuning and assist others as needed.
• Ensure test plans and test conditions are created, including regression conditions, and all conditions have been successfully tested.
• Help staff troubleshoot production issues and provide overnight and weekend on-call support.
• Assist in researching and remediating technical issues occurring within the retirement applications.
• Review previous night’s batch processing results each morning, resolving any outstanding issues.
• Conduct technical walkthroughs and code reviews of proposed system changes.
• Provide technical support to functional teams to help ensure successful user acceptance testing, as well as assist with remediation of defects found during user acceptance testing.
• Assist staff with implementing new features, resolving technical issues.
• Troubleshoot and resolve programming issues as reported by functional and business customers.

Additional Comments Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Demonstrated experience in PeopleCode (1 year to 2 years).
• Demonstrated experience in PeopleTools/App Designer.
• Demonstrated experience in SQL.
• Demonstrated experience in Object Oriented Programming.
• Demonstrated experience with programming tools/IDEs (i.e., Eclipse, Ultra Editor, etc.).
• Demonstrated experience with database management tools (i.e., Oracle SQL Developer, PL/SQL Developer, TOAD, etc.).
• Proficient at communicating with technical staff and customers alike.
• Strong analytical thinker with excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated experience in handling high pressure situations, including the ability to work under tight deadlines, troubleshoot production issues (both during shift and on-call), and able to shift priorities with minimal guidance.
• Demonstrated experience in adapting to new technologies as environment changes.
• Strong self-starter, with ability to pick up quickly on new technologies even when training and to in-house experts are limited.
