Minimum Qualifications Demonstrated interest in and familiarity with the field of labor-management relations including but not limited to with knowledge of organizing campaigns and elections, interest and/or experience resolving disputes over terms and conditions of employment or representation issues, as a neutral party or as an employer or union advocate.

Preferred qualification: Bilingual, fully fluent (written and spoken) in English and Spanish. Admission to the New York State Bar valued but not required.

Duties Description Under the direction of the director of private sector employment practices and representation, the election supervisor oversees matters pertaining to employee representation; the supervision of elections to determine majority status; and the eligibility for certification of employee organizations, arising under the State Employment Relations Act, including the amendments in the Farm Laborers’ Fair Labor Practices Act. The election supervisor responds to inquiries from constituents; may convene and participate in conferences to assist employers and employee organizations in resolving improper and unfair labor practice charges; may make recommendations to hearing officer(s) and director. Additional related duties as assigned.
