Minimum Qualifications Permanent transfer candidates: Current Department of Health (DOH) employee with permanent or contingent-permanent status as a Health Program Administrator (G18); OR current NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive service in a title eligible to transfer under Section 52.6, Section 70.1, or Section 70.4 of the Civil Service Law to a Health Program Administrator (G18), HealthProgram Administrator Trainee 1 (NS), or Health Program Administrator Trainee 2 (NS). Public candidates: Active list candidate on the New York State Department of Civil Service’s Professional Career Opportunities (PCO) eligible list #26-872 with a score of 100 or higher OR qualified 55B/C candidate in possession of a Bachelor’s or higher degree.
Preferred Qualifications: Candidate will demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills with an emphasis on the ability to work well in a team and under time pressures. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office 365 products. Experience providing user support for computer software applications. Experience developing and conducting training. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills for diverse audiences. Ability to work independently and manage multiple and changing priorities in a high-volume work environment.
Duties Description Provides technical assistance to NYSIIS users, guiding outreach efforts and responding to complex IIS questions; work closely with providers out of compliance with Public Health Law 2168; and work directly with LHDs in assisting with utilization of NYSIIS to perform the CDC's required Immunization Quality Improvement Project (IQIP) visits; end- user and bug fixes contractor assistance; review VFC provider vaccine administration practices and adherence to the CDC and Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) Immunization schedule and general recommendations on vaccination practices.
Additional Comments Contingent-permanent, competitive, full-time. Two yeartraineeship leading to a G18. Transfer candidates may be asked for SSN to verify title history and eligibility.
