Minimum Qualifications To be considered for appointment, candidates must be reachable from the appropriate Civil Service eligible list or be eligible for re-assignment, transfer or promotion in accordance with Civil Service Law.

Duties Description Under the direction of an Investigator 2, the incumbent will participate in the investigation of alleged criminal activity, misconduct, and other wrongdoing within the Department of Transportation, as well as investigations into any entity or individual conducting business with the Department.

Duties will include:

• The review of complaints, development of investigative plans, conducting interviews and interrogations, performing surveillance, data analysis, evidence gathering, report writing, and testifying at trials and administrative hearings.

• Additional duties will include conducting joint investigations with federal, state, and local authorities.

Current or prior Law Enforcement experience is preferred but is not required. This position is based out of Albany, NY and requires occasional travel throughout New York State.

Responsibilities may include serving a role within the Incident Command System to support the department’s response to regional and statewide emergency situations.
