Minimum Qualifications The following degrees may substitute for the general experience as indicated:
• Associate’s degree and four years of experience
• Bachelor’s degree and three years of experience
• Master’s degree substitutes for an additional year of experience
• Doctorate substitutes for an additional 2 years of experience
Preferred qualifications:
• Working experience with IBM Mainframe Workload Scheduler
• Batch Processing and Job Control Language
Duties Description IBM Production Control Grade 23 Duties Description
Under the direction of the Information Technology Specialist 4 (Operations), SG-25, within the Chief Technology Office/Data Center Operations, the Project Assistant will be part of a Production Control Team responsible for providing 24 X7 service to our customer agencies. We develop, implement, and monitor the operation of computer-based processing schedules for Department of Motor Vehicle, Department of Labor, Department of Transportation, Department of General Services, Office for Mental Health, Department of Health, Housing and Community Renewal and others.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
• Ensure system availability and workflow for all scheduled customer activities.
• Operate and maintaining standardized scheduling packages
• Ensure the adherence to standards and procedures
• Knowledge and mechanics for job scheduling and monitoring using agency software tools

? TIDAL (Open System Scheduling Software)
? SDSF (Spool Display and Search Facility)
? CMOD (OnDemand)
• Develop, implements, and monitors the operations of the computer-based processing schedules for customer agencies. Identifies training needs for staff and trains staff on a continual basis.
• Maintain, updates, and creates documentation for Production Control.
• Execute the established procedures for problem escalation.
• Understand and participate in Change Management and Problem Management processes.
• Notify appropriate parties regarding application or system problems, according to procedure.
• Create daily reports, charts, statistics, and databases.
• Maintain system incident reports for compilation of daily reports and future reference.
• Contact customer agency programming staff for documentation updates when needed.
• Maintain communication with programming staff, vendors, and co-workers.
• Demonstrate knowledge of the mainframe computer system, peripheral equipment, and console software tools.
• Control and monitors the operation of the computer system through the main console.
• Respond to system problems and console messages.
• Plan, schedule, manage transformation of IWS Batch Jobs to NYS Enterprise OpCon Batch Job Scheduling tool for 11 agencies on the IBM Mainframe
• Manage testing of transformed OpCon schedules with Agency Program and BAS (Business Application Services) IT staff
• Migrate new OpCon schedules into Production
Additional Comments Salary: To be determined, commensurate with experience.
