Preferred Qualifications: The preferred candidate will have experience with assisting with program management and contracts; strong organizational skills; excellent communication and written skills; experience working in sexual and reproductive health programs and familiarity with reproductive justice issues; experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic and historically marginalized groups, knowledge of the concepts of institutional racism and its impact on health care delivery to underserved and underrepresented communities, and experience in writing and implementing policies and procedures to align with program goals and federal compliance requirements. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, etc).
Duties Description The Health Program Administrator (HPA) / Trainee will support the Bureau of Perinatal, Reproductive, and Sexual Health (BPRASH) Family Planning Unit by providing assistance to the Health Program Administrator 1 (HPA 1) on programmatic oversight of contracted Family Planning provider agencies. Responsibilities include managing multiple family planning contracts; providing technical assistance to providers regarding contract deliverables; ensuring program compliance with all state program requirements, federal Title X regulations and legislative mandates; participating in routine calls with all contractors, and reviewing reports and monitoring documents to ensure compliance with contract requirements. The position will support other Bureau and Division activities on common goals and issues impacting reproductive health, participate on interagency workgroups as needed, and perform other duties as assigned.
Additional Comments "Full-time, permanent appointment. Transfer candidates, you may be asked for a Social Security Number to verify your transfer eligibility. Occasional travel, including overnights, throughout New York State including to areas not served by public transportation may be required (10%).
Depending on candidate qualifications, the position may be filled at the Health Program Administrator Trainee 1 or 2 levels. Traineeships are non-statutory, resulting in Salary Grade 18 upon completion.
