Minimum Qualifications "Permanent transfer candidates: Current Department of Health (DOH) employee with permanent or contingent-permanent status as a Health Program Administrator (G18); OR current NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive service in a title eligible to transfer under Section 52.6, Section 70.1, or Section 70.4 of the Civil Service Law to a Health Program Administrator (G18), HealthProgram Administrator Trainee 1 (NS), or Health Program Administrator Trainee 2 (NS). Preferred Qualifications: Experience communicating professionally with various stakeholder. Strong writing and verbal skills, detail-oriented, Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook. The ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments.
Duties Description The Environmental Laboratory Approval Program (ELAP) was established under Section 502 of the Public Health Law and is responsible for the oversight of ~500 laboratories performing environmental analyses on NYS samples. The incumbent will act as a program liaison to regulated parties, assisting laboratories by applying knowledge of the program, and Federal and State laws and regulations. Monitor, track, and assist with all inquiries to the program. Review documents for completeness and make decisions on staff qualifications as defined in NYS regulation. Draft correspondences with regulated parties and implement program improvements. Collect and analyze data or information and develop reports/recommendations regarding program activities or responsibilities. Issue invoices and track payments. Monitor laboratory progress with annual reapplication. Communicate with laboratories and assist with outstanding requirements for certification. Scan and file documents, including corrective action responses and proficiency testing reports. Update the program’s checklists, certification manual, website, and database. Assist other program staff and perform other duties as assigned.
Additional Comments Permanent, competitive, full-time. Two year traineeship leading to a G18. Transfer candidates may be asked for SSN to verify title history and eligibility.
