Preferred Qualifications: Experience with financial statement analysis and reporting, including familiarity with State Finance Law and OSC and DOH policies; Experience working with Department of Health Facilities, esp. Long-Term Care Facilities; Excellent organizational, written, interpersonal, and communication (both written and verbal) skills and strong attention to detail; Experience working on a team, and with providing financial review technical assistance to both internal and external stakeholders; and supervision of staff, including training and performance evaluations
Duties Description This position will serve as the Associate Accountant for the Adult Care Facility and Assisted Living Licensure Bureau at the Center for Long-Term Care Licensure, Planning, and Finance. Duties may include, but are not limited to: Perform accounting and audit functions in support of Bureau operations, including leading the development of financial reports as needed; Provide technical assistance to applicants, consultant representatives, and DOH staff, as applicable, on financial matters; Conduct or review financial reviews of projects and make recommendations; Supervise accountant staff, including training and performance evaluations; Represent the Bureau in the Associate Accountant role with upper-level management, other state partners, and stakeholders when needed; Develop/Revise Bureau accounting/auditing processes, and tools as needed; Collaborate and Coordinate with other DOH Bureaus, Centers/Divisions, and Offices, and other State Agencies, as applicable; May serve as subject matter expert in meetings, work groups, and conferences; and other duties as assigned
