Minimum Qualifications Non-Competitive: Bachelor's degree in the natural sciences and three years of post-degree professional research experience in an appropriate field, or a Master's degree in the appropriate field and two years of such experience; or a doctorate in the appropriate field.
preferred Qualifications: A Master’s degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Statistics/Biostatistics, Social/Behavioral Sciences, or a related field. A minimum of three years of experience in communicable disease-related activities or quality improvement/performance management. Familiarity with epidemiological research methods. Experience in management and analysis of large data sets, including proficiency with statistical database software, such as SAS. Excellent written and oral communication skills, which includes both public speaking and preparation of written materials such as reports, abstracts, and publications. Familiarity with surveillance and outbreak response activities. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Duties Description Monitor and manage the use of Vaccine Program funding streams, including monitoring and updating the CDC vaccine Spend Plan; develops and lead vaccine storage and handling protocols and procedures, review of temperature excursion data, assessment of vaccine viability, and reimmunization recommendations with providers; participate in the development, implementation, and analysis of research projects utilizing the New York State Immunization Information System (NYSIIS) data and other available data, including assessing Vaccines for Children and Vaccines for Adults provider coverage; Integrate data from the New York State Immunization Information System (NYSIIS), CDC vaccine tracking systems and other sources to meet specific program monitoring and quality improvement goals.
