Preferred Qualifications: Experience with budget and contract administration including multiple service provisions and funding sources; Experience contracting with and providing technical assistance to small community based organizations (CBOs); Experience using the Statewide Financial System and/or Grants Gateway to process claims for payment or facilitate contract administration including report generation and interpretation; Experience in creating and managing comprehensive tracking systems to encompass multiple program areas, as well as proficiency with Word, Excel, and SharePoint; Strong understanding of the principles of health equity and ability to apply these principles to internal and external relationships; Excellent communication and organizational skills with a strong focus on attention to detail, being able to interpret, communicate, and coordinate programmatic and administrative functions; Ability to thrive in a fast paced, high-profile environment while prioritizing multiple concurrent assignments.

Duties Description The Health Program Administrator, reporting to the Assistant Director of Administration, will play a vital role in supporting the administrative and contract work required to oversee Office of Gun Violence Prevention funded gun violence prevention and related services programming. This position is responsible for assisting the administrative and grants management activity of the Office of Gun Violence Prevention (OGVP). The Health Program Administrator will help ensure the smooth implementation of program activities and contribute to the overall effectiveness and efficiency of OGVP. Responsibilities will include: program and contract management; fiscal and data management; conduct site visits and evaluate contracts to ensure initiatives/projects are achieving key performance measures; participate in assigned teams, committees, and work groups; develop written materials; participate in program planning and development; other appropriate related duties.

Additional Comments This position is being posted in anticipation of Division of the Budget approval. Full-time, permanent appointment. Transfer candidates, you may be asked for a Social Security Number to verify your transfer eligibility. Occasional travel, including overnights, throughout New York State including to areas not served by public transportation may be required (20%).

Depending on candidate qualifications, the position may be filled at the Health Program Administrator Trainee 1 or 2 levels. Traineeships are non-statutory, resulting in Salary Grade 18 upon completion.
