Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of Medicaid Program, Managed Care Delivery Models, Public Health Law and Regulation with experience in interpretation of governing laws, regulations, or policy, Project management, Microsoft Office Applications.

Duties Description Within OHIP’s Division of Health Plan Contracting and Oversight, Bureau of Managed Care Certification and Surveillance (BMCCS), this incumbent will assist Managed Care Certification Contract team with review and approval of management and provider agreements. The position includes but is not limited to the daily activities related to plan management ensuring Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) in New York State are compliant in accordance with regulations, statutes, and the Medicaid Contract.
• Assist with review and approval of management and provider contracts.
• Enter required information in databases used by BMCCS to ensure data collection and reporting is complete.
• Issue written correspondence with MCO’s once approved.
• Assist with Review of Character and Competence for MCO personnel or contracted management vendors.
• Review state and federal legislation related to managed care and review for impact on existing program operations.
• Draft policies and procedures as well as guidance documents.
• Communicate with MCO staff and BMCCS management regarding DOH policy changes, guidance, or anticipated activities.
• Assist with operational or targeted survey activities.
• May supervise paraprofessional and/or clerical staff.
• Participate in ongoing educational needs, training, and guidance for staff.
• Special projects and other related duties as assigned.
• Travel throughout New York State is required.
