Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications

Must be a matriculated undergraduate (freshman level or above) or graduate college student working toward a degree in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.

Essential Skills

Demonstrated understanding of DEI principles.
Excellent oral and written communications skills.
Demonstrated ability to problem-solve.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
Proficiency in PC applications such as Outlook, Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint.
Ability to work on PC’s, troubleshoot problems, monitor system health, and perform daily system operations tasks.
Knowledge of Office 365 applications.
Knowledge of Windows server setup, and Active Directory management.

Duties Description Primary Purpose

Under the supervision of the Director, Diversity & Inclusion, the student intern will perform a variety of tasks related to developing, implementing, evaluating, and monitoring diversity, inclusion and equal opportunity activities and programs administered by DASNY; including but not limited to policy review and creation, recruitment, training, communications, event planning, and intranet site content.


Essential Functions

Plan and coordinate events related to DEI, Heritage Months and Cultural Recognitions.
Track progress on DASNY 5-Year Strategic Plan.
Create content for Office of Diversity & Inclusion Intranet pages.
Assist in developing and coordinating DEI trainings for staff.
Develop Diversity & Inclusion Library.
Assist in recruitment efforts.
Organize and manage work assignment tracker.
Assist in data collection and analysis.
Undertake special projects as directed.
Must maintain regular attendance in accordance with DASNY attendance and leave policies.
Must adhere to the NYS Information Security Policy Standards established and issued by the Office of Information Technology Services. (Standards can be found on the Intranet.)
