Duties Description
This posting is for five positions in the Division of Environmental Permits’ Bureau of Permit Management, Bureau of Energy Project Management and Regional Support Section. Duties will include supervision of Environmental Analyst 1’s and trainees or Environmental Program Specialist 1’s and trainees; managing applications for Uniform Procedures Act permits and conducting related environmental reviews (e.g., State Environmental Quality Review Act, State Historic Preservation Act , etc.); managing environmental review of projects subject to energy-related federal and state licensing and certificate requirements (e.g., Federal Energy Regulatory Commission , Public Service Law Article VII, Executive Law 94-c, etc.); and assisting in the development of Division training, guidance, and policies.
Additional Comments Must have a valid driver’s license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain. Travel may be required. Overtime may be required. Overnight travel may be required. Must be available for emergency response. Must be able to lift and move objects up to 40 pounds. Telecommuting may be available, will be discussed at interview.

For new State employees appointed to graded positions, the annual salary is the hiring rate (beginning of the Salary Range) of the position. Promotion salaries are calculated by the NYS Office of the State Comptroller in accordance with NYS Civil Service Law, OSC Payroll rules and regulations and negotiated union contracts.
