Minimum Qualifications Non-competitive:
One year of service as a Facility Operations Assistant 1 or Motor Vehicle Operator.

OR

Two years of full-time, verifiable experience in custodial, grounds, or maintenance operation or assisting in a journey-level trade. When required to operate motor vehicles, incumbents must possess a valid New York State driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle being operated.

Duties Description The Office of Financial Administration (OFA)is responsible for overall agency fiscal management and administering the procurement process. As the Department carries out key initiatives to transform the way services are delivered to partner agencies and to the public, this position will play an important role in ensuring the success of these modernization efforts.

The Facility Operations Assistant 2 duties The Office of Financial Administration will include but are not limited to the following:
• The Facility Operations Assistant is responsible for counting, checking, and packaging municipal test materials for each examination date. Central to the position is the preparation of materials for pick-up by UPS. This staff member also prepares and records information concerning outgoing shipments on detailed reports.
• The Operations Assistant is responsible for preparing decentralized test booklets, testing supplies, and instructions for shipment to statewide locations. In this role, the staff member counts, checks, and packs test materials for each test date.
• Staff will also be responsible for receiving and unpacking test materials when returned from examination sites in preparation for review by the Testing Administration Unit. Position will entail the audit, sorting and preparation of
materials for storage. In this role, discarded material will be properly prepared for
security scrap disposal, in line with Department procedure.
• Operations Assistant also oversees work being performed by the MVO’s to assure that procedures are being followed and answers questions and assists when needed. Staff delivers /picks up test materials for Albany area schools as backup to MVO’s, as needed.
• Staff member will also be responsible for stacking and storing security scrap in secure room in an organized manner consistent with Department procedure. Load security scrap onto security scrap truck.
• Provides backup supervisor role duties when needed.
