Salary RangeFrom $20.10 to $20.10 Hourly

Each NYSDOT employee plays an important part in fulfilling the Department’s mission and goals, as we are one DOT working cohesively to ensure the state has a safe, efficient, balanced and environmentally sound transportation system.
The Student Assistant will report to professional level staff and perform various duties in the Office of Traffic Safety & Mobility, including assisting with:
• Update cyber security documentation as needed
• Assist in carrying out the 2024 DOT phishing campaign
• Assist DOT CISO in carrying out Transportation Management Center recommendations provided during consultant evaluation
• Assist DOT CISO with evaluating Operational Technology monitoring solutions
• Assist DOT CISO with developing DOT specific cyber security awareness training
• Assist DOT CISO in tracking work intake requests
• QA/QC of the Enterprise Asset Management System for Traffic Signals and ITS
• Reporting and analytics for Traffic Signals and ITS inventory, inspection, and lifecycle analysis
Responsibilities may include serving a role within the Incident Command System to support the department’s response to regional and statewide emergency situations.
