Minimum Qualifications There are no educational or experience qualifications for this position. Possession of a valid New York State driver's license is required. Must be physically able to perform the duties assigned.

Duties Description Perform building maintenance; ground maintenance; vehicle equipment cleaning, maintenance, repair and testing; drive department vehicles including sedans, pickups and cargo vans as directed to perform tasks including pick up and delivery of equipment and supplies; help with inventory and assist in maintaining wildland fire equipment. Overtime may occasionally be required during periods of high work load.

Additional Comments Must have a valid driver’s license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. Use of personal protection equipment, including a respirator, will be required. Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain Must be able to work in remote areas. Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions. Overtime may be required. Weekends and holidays may be required. Must be available for emergency response. Must be available to respond to after-hours emergencies. Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.

Selected candidate must undergo a background investigation prior to appointment.

This is a hourly appointment currently funded through 3/31/2025, with a likelihood of continuing beyond that date. Program needs and funding will determine actual termination date.
