Minimum Qualifications NY HELPS: One year of clerical experience.

Transfer Opportunity: Current NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive service as an Office Assistant 2 G-9, OR a NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent- permanent, competitive service in a position allocated to a salary Grade 7 or above and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

Preferred Qualifications: Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; ability to use office machines including multiphone line, copier, fax/scanner; ability to handle a high volume of work in a fast-paced office environment and to meet deadlines; proficient in Microsoft Office programs; ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritize workloads, multi-task, flexible and complete assignments within short timeframes.

Duties Description The Office Assistant 2 will provide office and administrative support for staff of the Bureau of Early Intervention's Provider Approval, Due Process and Monitoring Unit. Responsibilities will include: provide daily phone coverage for the Provider Approval, Due Process, and Monitoring Unit (PAU); monitor the unit's shared electronic mail log and accurately triage questions to appropriate PAU or BEI staff/units; scan and upload documents, track PAU documents, emails, requests, etc; assist with initial screening and tracking of individual applications; format and type a variety of documents of PAU staff and reivew documents for accuracy; create and mail letters to early intervention providers each month, utilize the State Data System to research, data enter, and review provider documentation; communicate with approved providers and applicants and other duties assigned by the Unit manager.

Additional Comments Three full-time, contingent permanent/permanent positions. Transfer Candidates may be asked for their social security number to verify eligibility.
