Minimum Qualifications CURRENT STATE EMPLOYEES:
Current New York State employee with one year or more of qualifying permanent service in a position allocated to a Grade 11 or above and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1, 52.6 or 70.4 of the Civil Service Law.
70.4 Transfer: Candidates must have one year or more of qualifying permanent service at the Grade 11 or above AND possession of a bachelor’s degree; AND standing on the Professional Careers Opportunities (PCO) or Public Administration Traineeship Transition (PATT) eligible lists.
Successful completion of a two-year traineeship leads to appointment as a Senior Administrative Analyst, SG-18.

Duties Description Duties include but are not limited to:
• Assist the Commissioner of the New York State Department of Veterans’ Services and the Agency in statistical research, data analysis and the presentation of data, preparing manuals and handbooks, plan, organize, and presenting data, evaluate research methods.
• Research and present statistical information.
• Research and identify Agency staffing needs.
• Analyze trends affecting Veterans throughout the state and/or nation.
• Provide information to policy makers.
• Present and speak at various veteran events or outreaches.
• Present information as needed by management to identify, create, adjust, and present programs focused on the betterment of Veterans and their families.
• Perform ITS related tasks and act as Assistant Liaison with ITS.
Operational Needs:
• Travel may be required (approximately 30%), including during evening and weekends, depending on mission and assignment.
• Possession and maintenance of a valid Driver’s License issued by the NYS Department of Motor Vehicle is required, or otherwise demonstrate the capacity to meet the transportation needs of the job.
