Minimum Qualifications For Occupational Therapy Assistant 1, SG-11:
Eligibility for authorization as OR possession of licensure and currently registration to practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in New York State.
After two years of satisfactory experience as an Occupational Therapy Assistant 1, SG-11, you will be advanced to Occupational Therapy Assistant 2, SG-14, without further examination.
For Occupational Therapy Assistant 2, SG-14:
Possession of a license and current registration to practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in New York State AND two years of post-licensure experience.
Duties Description An Occupational Therapy Assistant 1 or 2 would use constructive activity, usually in manual and creative arts, to improve or correct mental, emotional, or motor status disorders. The Occupational Therapy Assistant would function under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist or Senior Occupational Therapist.
NOTE:
If, after appointment, your limited permit expires; you fail to obtain authorization; or your license, authorization and/or registration are not maintained, action will be taken to remove you from the position.
In order to be eligible for appointment and to maintain employment, you cannot be listed as an excluded individual or entity on any of the Federal and/or State Medicaid and Medicare exclusion lists (or excluded from any other Federal or Federally assisted program). If you are appointed and subsequently listed as an excluded individual or entity on any of these lists (or excluded from any other Federal or federally assisted program), you may be terminated from your employment.
If appointed, you may be required to become an enrolled Medicare provider; obtain and provide to your employer a National Provider Identifier (NPI) number issued by the National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES); and otherwise actively participate to the degree necessary to allow for your services to be billed through Medicare and Medicaid. If you are appointed and are required to become a Medicare Provider and lose the ability to bill through Medicare and Medicaid, you may be terminated from your employment.

Salary ranges for the titles are as follows:
Occupational Therapy Assistant 1, Grade 11: $44,169- $56,743
Occupational Therapy Assistant 2, Grade 14: $52,198 - $66,634
This position is eligible for a Down State adjustment of $3,400.
Work Schedule will be days, evenings and weekends.
