Minimum Qualifications The NYS Department of Civil Service has developed the NY HELPS program. During this program, the NYS Civil Service Exam requirements are suspended for the Office Assistant 1, SG006 title.

Duties Description Full-time position. Schedule based on a 37.5 hour work week. Monday-Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
Office Assistants perform office support and clerical work to meet the requirements of agency programs. Such work may consist of, but is not limited to: data entry; math or calculations; mail, supply, and inventory-related tasks; keyboarding and other document preparation tasks; answering telephones; completing forms; assisting customers; creating or assisting in the preparation of reports, charts, graphs, and tables; and other related activities.
Duties include but are not limited to: the pulling, delivering, picking up, filing and scanning of all customer storage items. They will report any issues to Office Assistant 2 or Warehouse Manager. Assists in other miscellaneous duties in order to maintain office coverage. Must be able to bend, stretch, lift heavy loads of materials, climb ladders and stand for long period of time. Excellent communication and organizational skills desired.
Must possess and maintain a valid NYS driver’s license to operate a motor vehicle.
