A Bachelor's degree and at least four years of progressively responsible experience in politics, government, and/or campaigns. The ideal candidate will also have experience in a supervisory or team leadership role, with strong organizational
skills, exceptional attention to detail, and excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Duties Description The Deputy Director of Briefing Operations will play a critical role in supporting the
management and execution of the Governor's briefing process. This position assists the Director of Briefing Operations in leading the team responsible for preparing and delivering the Governor's daily briefing materials, ensuring that they are comprehensive, accurate, and aligned with the Governor’s schedule and priorities.
Specifically, the incumbent will be responsible for the following duties:
? Assist in Team Management: Support the Director of Briefing Operations in overseeing a team of Briefers across Albany, New York City, and Buffalo, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to established procedures.
? Daily Briefing Book Coordination: Manage the preparation of the Governor’s daily
briefing book, setting deadlines, verifying content accuracy, and coordinating with
relevant stakeholders to include all necessary materials.
? Quality Assurance: Review and ensure the quality and completeness of all briefing materials. Facilitate the inclusion of last-minute updates and re-prints to maintain the relevance and accuracy of the briefing book.
? Logistical Oversight: Ensure adequate staffing and resource allocation in the New York City, Buffalo, and Albany offices to meet the daily deadlines for printing and delivering the briefing book.
? Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with Executive Chamber staff and external
stakeholders to communicate briefing requirements and secure necessary information and materials.
? Resource Management: Maintain and organize the briefing resource library, ensuring it is up-to-date and easily accessible for the team.
Additional Comments Evening and weekend work will be required on a regular basis. In addition to potential travel around New York State, candidates will need to have access to regular, reliable transportation options in the course of performing their duties.
