Minimum Qualifications Labor Class: Applicants must be physically able to perform the tasks of the position and be able to understand and carry out written or oral instructions. When required to operate motor vehicles, incumbents must possess a valid New York State driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle being operated.
Duties Description Reporting to the Fleet and Facilities Manager the Facility Operations Assistant 1 will perform duties that include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Perform office-related activities such as filing, ordering, alphabetizing, photocopying, sorting, delivering, and receiving mail, storing records or supplies on shelves, bins, pallets, and floor.
• Perform general maintenance tasks including but not limited to keeping exit and entryways clear of debris and elements.
• Perform a variety of routine building maintenance tasks such as unclogging toilets and sinks, hanging artwork, installing shelves, installing bulletin boards, and installing white boards.
• Move heavy supplies, furniture, and equipment.
• Load and unload heavy equipment, supplies, and furniture by physically lifting items or operating a hand truck or forklift.
• Move items to and from storage areas, warehouses, and offsite facilities.
• Setting up and removing furniture, partitions, and equipment as needed.
• Coordinate and deliver / retrieve forms, mail, packages, supplies, equipment, and vehicles to various offices and offsite facilities.
• Assist in the receiving and shipping of various office material and mailings.
• Operating and maintaining equipment including but not limited to a mail inserter and postage machine.
• Operate self-propelled and motorized equipment.
• Maintain records of fleet vehicle parking and employee vehicle parking.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Ability to problem solve, multi-task, and manage multiple priorities.
Additional Comments Prohibition against Playing and Wagering:
Commission employees and family members residing in their households are prohibited from purchasing Lottery tickets or claiming Lottery prizes. Commission employees are prohibited from wagering upon any horse racing, commercial gaming, video lottery gaming, Indian gaming, charitable gaming activities, interactive fantasy sports, and mobile sports wagering within the State. To avoid any appearance of impropriety of conflict of interest, Commission employees will be prohibited from all aspects of promoting, operating, and playing in any charitable gaming, which includes bingo and games of chance such as raffles, whether the organization conducting the game is required to be licensed by the Commission. The prohibition placed upon each Commission employee from assisting with any charitable gaming does not apply to the employee's family unless the employee thinks it presents a conflict of interest related to his or her job duties. Commission employees must also avoid any outside activities that could interfere or be perceived to interfere with their job duties.
