Duties Description In addition to driving a state vehicle, the employee will be required to perform the following duties:
• Responsible for loading, securing the load and unloading the truck, van or rental vehicle as necessary, in a safe and timely manner using the appropriate material handling equipment.
• Moves or carries cargo from the vehicle to the delivery or storage point (carrying may require heavy lifting).
• Perform Mid-Hudson Courier Run: transport inter-agency mail (and other miscellaneous supplies) for all four Mid-Hudson offices.
• Ensure that mail distributions are handled accurately and schedule requirements are adhered to.
• Meet upstate drivers at Yonkers location for transfer of items.
• Maintains security requirements.
• Vehicle maintenance/operation which includes monitoring state vehicles for necessary oil changes, fluid changes, repairs, inspections, etc.
• Maintain monthly vehicle usage reports; logs mileage records; retains fuel receipts.
• Maintain accurate account and proper storage of inventory, equipment, security items, etc; keeps the work environment clean and safe.
• Operate Postage Machine.
• Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Must possess a New York State Driver’s License and a CDL Class B with Air Brake Endorsement.

Additional Comments In addition to the salary listed, the incumbent of the position will also receive an annual downstate location pay of $3400.
