The duties that the incumbent of the vacancy will be expected to perform. Duties Description A Security Hospital Treatment Assistant will perform a variety of tasks related to care, engagement, treatment, education, recovery, safety, and security of individuals with mental illness in forensic hospitals and units operated my OMH, including:
• Participate in the development and implementation of treatment plans
• Interact with patients and observe and progress and responses to treatment
• Assist and instruct patients in attending to person care tasks
• Escort patients to activities and appointments on and facility grounds
• Complete necessary documentation and maintain patient records
The minimum qualifications required for this vacancy. Minimum Qualifications Candidates from outside State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement – Statewide (HELPS) program.
Candidates must possess a High School or High School Equivalency Diploma and two years of full-time direct patient care experience working in a health care, behavioral health, corrections, or juvenile justice setting/program.
OR
An associate’s degree and one year of full-time direct patient care experience working in a health care, behavioral health, corrections or juvenile justice setting or a bachelor's degree.
The selected candidate will be tested for proficiency in Spanish and must receive a passing score to be considered for appointment. Proficiency must be at a level that will assure your ability to satisfactorily perform the duties of the position.
