Duties Description Under the direct supervision of the Director of the Office of Professional Medical Conduct (OPMC), the incumbent of this position with provide administrative executive support to the Director’s Office, which includes the Director of OPMC and two Assistant Directors of OPMC. Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Review all outgoing correspondence to ensure all issues have been addressed and are in compliance with PHL 230 or other respective policies and procedures;
• Coordinate all Executive Correspondence for OPMC including conducting research and drafting of responses, tracking assignments, proofreading submissions and reporting on progress;
• Coordinate Freedom of Information Law requests, including researching and drafting responses;
• Coordinate the management of the OPMC Web Mailbox
• Review annual public reports to ensure that information is complete and in accordance with PHL and departmental policies;
• Liaison between program and external stakeholders related to administrative processes pertaining to program or the Director’s Office;
• Liaison between internal units of the program related to administrative processes pertaining to needs of the program;
• Coordinate the executive calendars in the Director’s Office including managing appointments and scheduling meetings with internal and external participants;
• Take meeting minutes and draft reports for dissemination, as needed;
• Track Quality Assurance assignments and assist with package reports for submission to Medical Director for review;
• Track all public presentations made to outside audiences and assist with the coordination of outside public presentation activities;
• Supervise paraprofessionals or other support staff of the unit;
• Back up the processing of Board Orders; and
• Other responsibilities as assigned by the Director’s Office.

Minimum Qualifications Permanent Transfer Candidates: Current NYS Department of Health employee with one year of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive, service as a Health Program Administrator, SG18, OR a current NYS employee with one year of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive, service in a title eligible to transfer under Section 52.6, Section 70.1, or Section 70.4 of the NYS Civil Service Law to Health Program Administrator, SG18, Health Program Administrator Trainee 1, NS, or Health Program Administrator Trainee 2, NS.

Non Competative Candidates via HELPS Program:
Health Program Administrator: A bachelor's degree and two years of experience in the administration, supervision and oversight of programs including the design, implementation, administration, management, operation, and assessment of program effectiveness.

Health Program Administrator Trainee 2: A bachelor's degree and one year of experience in the administration, supervision and oversight of programs including the design, implementation, administration, management, operation, and assessment of program effectiveness.

Health Program Administrator Trainee 1: A bachelor's or higher degree.

Substitution: a Juris Doctor, master's or higher degree in a related field can substitute for one year of specialized experience.

• Ability to research investigative case files
• Strong computer skills

Additional Comments This position is part of the NYS HELPS program. No examination is required.

This position may require travel throughout New York State including overnights to areas not served by public transportation.
