Duties Description COMMUNICATIONS
• Develops and maintains a cohesive brand identity for the Assemblywoman, ensuring consistency across all communication channels and materials.
• Designs and executes marketing campaigns to promote the Assemblywoman’s legislative initiatives, community involvement, and public image.
• Coordinates with senior staff and constituent services liaison, develops, implements, and manages the Assemblywoman’s communication strategy.
• Creates messaging that aligns with the Assemblywoman’s legislative priorities and public image for public appearances.
• Prepares and distributes speeches, statements, media advisories, talking points, op-eds, press releases and quotes for the Assemblywoman.
• Develops and maintains strong relationships with journalists and media outlets.
• Monitors and responds to public attitudes and opinions on topics and issues.
• Serves as the primary point of contact for all media inquiries.
• Develops and executes strategies to effectively communicate with constituents.
• Attends events, alongside or in place of the Assemblywoman, including but not limited to community meetings, press conferences, and other public engagements.
CONTENT MANAGEMENT
• Oversees and manages the Assemblywoman’s social media accounts, ensuring timely, consistent, and impactful content.
• Collaborates with graphic designers, digital marketers, and other vendors to create compelling visuals and promotional content.
• Sets up, launches and manages the Assemblywoman’s social media accounts, ensuring consistent branding and engagement across platforms, while driving outreach to constituents and the wider community.
• Monitors social media channels for relevant trends and conversations and engages with constituents online.
• Creates edits and disseminates, routine and occasional newsletters, website content, robocalls, email/text blasts and other communication materials for the district’s constituents.
• Develops promotional material for town halls, public forums, and other constituent engagement.
COMMUNITY AFFAIRS
• Creates and maintains a database of community organizations, partners, and stakeholders.
• Helps to develop outreach strategies that align with district constituents and Assemblywoman's priorities.
• Coordinates with senior staff to develop communications around events and activation's to strengthen the Assemblywoman’s presence in the community.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
• Reviews and ensures that citations, proclamations, and constituent correspondence are processed and delivered correctly, in line with office policies and procedures.
• Assists in the planning and execution of district office-hosted events, including but not limited to community meetings, press conferences, and public appearances.

Minimum Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations, Political Science, or a relevant field.
• At least 3-5 years of experience in communications, public relations, or a similar role.
• Experience in political communication or working within government is highly desirable.
• Network of media contacts, particularly within the New York area, to enhance press coverage and support outreach initiatives.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong understanding of media relations and social media management.
• Must work evenings and weekends.
• Ability to travel as needed.
